Loot Rules Empty Loot Rules

Acquiring loot in this game means different things for different players. For some it is a means to an end, allowing them to perform better in raids; for some loot is a status symbol; and for others it is simply a "nice to have." Whatever your idea of what loot represents, we can all pretty much agree that loot can be a major factor in drama in a guild.

Loot itself does not create drama--the communication around what to do with that loot does. It is for this reason that we have developed specific ways in which to handle loot so that all of our players know up front what to expect when loot drops. As this game grows and presents new challenges in loot distribution, we will continue to develop and clarify our policies on loot distribution.

By applying to Nemesis, you agree to abide by the posted loot rules below.

Loot Policies for Open Runs

Any dungeon that is not part of the core raid group's progression is considered "open" and can be run with the guild or with a PUG. When running any of these instances, keep the following guidelines in mind:

* Mains have priority over alts and main spec has priority over off spec. This can be subject to change--the group you are in may agree to let your alt have equal consideration to mains. In any case, we ask any alts to take care in rolling for an item against a main who needs it as an upgrade. Communication is key, and the group should be in agreement. If you're not sure, ask.

* You must be on the character the item is for if you want to claim need for a BoE item. Do not claim these items for your other characters unless there is no need in the group for the item and the rest of the group agrees to it.

* Most of our guild runs limit players to two pieces of loot per run. If additional items drop that you would like, you can claim them if no one else needs them--we will always give loot to people who will use it rather than disenchanting it.

* Roll NEED on all BoE items and PASS on all BoP items. If you win a BoE item in this manner that another person has actual need for, please be considerate and pass that item on. This may vary from group to group--some groups may, in the interest of speed, need or greed on all items, or roll need for upgrades and let a disenchanter greed. When in doubt, ask before you make your choice on an item. What is bolded above is our standard guild approach to group loot, but groups may decide to alter their system for various reasons. Don't assume that every group handles loot the same way. Again, communication is important.

* Patterns used for professions are prioritized to characters who have the requisite skill to use them. In some circumstances (such as early in an expansion cycle when many people do not have maxed professions), exceptions to this rule may be made for characters who are close to the requisite skill, but these characters must be in the process of skilling up and reach the needed level in a reasonable amount of time.
