Warrior Fury DPS - Some Tips :)

Hi everybody

Here I’m gonna put some tips (given by a noob ) to raise your dps when your warrior is wielding 2 two handed weapons.
(I will also make an Arms DPS guide, but imho fury gives a more sustained dps)


Let’s start from the important stats for a warrior:


1 Strength = 2 Attack power

(most important stat for each warrior, for fury is more important of any other ‘cause of Improved Berserker Stance)


Armor Penetration Rating = ArP is unique in that the more ArP you have, the greater the increase in damage becomes (so in raid, if tank isn’t a warrior, stack some sunder armor on the boss  )


Critical Strike Rating:
- 45 Crit Rating = 1% Crit.
- 62 AGI = 1% Crit for Warriors.



Hit Rating
- Titan's Grip yellow hit cap without Precision: 460 hit rating to remove the 14% miss rate.

I think this on M4A it's kinda bugged, with 340 (11/12%) hit rating I didn't see any misses also in white hits during a whole raid


Expertise
- Without Weapon Mastery: 214 expertise rating to remove the 6.5% dodge rate (equal to 26 expertise skill)
This works right, you need 26 expertise rating to make your hits undodgeable


Secondary stats:


Stamina
Survive to continue your dpsing


Haste Rating
I think this is the worst stat for a warrior. (compared to others like critical, strength and hit)
Flurry gives us the haste boost that we need.



Now some specs:


Classic Fury 18/53 with commanding presence, and 1 point on Precision (but I don’t think this talent is working on m4a)

Fury Cleave 18/53 for AoE damage ( against group of mobs, but watch your threat )

Dps Rotation:


Your rotation as fury, to maximize the dps and the rage “burning” has to be: (stay in berserker stance)


- Bloodthirst

- Whirlwind

- Slam on Bloodsurge procs

- Heroic Strike (when rage is >70)

- Heroic Throw when it’s ready


When target is under 20%, EXECUTE TIME! Just replace the heroic strikes and sometimes bloodthirst with execute, but don’t forget to do whirlwinds and slams 
Use Death Wish when it’s ready but REALLY watch your threat.




Gems: (remember Strength>>>>Attack Power)


Red Gems: +20 Strength, +20 Armor Penetration

Purple Gems: +10 Strenght + 15 stamina, +10 Armor Penetration + 15 Stamina

Yellow Gems: +20 Critical Strike Rating, +20 Hit Rating

Orange Gems: +10 Strenght + 10 Critical Strike Rating, +10 Strength + 10 Hit Rating

I suggest to equip:

+20 Strength in each Red Socket you have

+10 strength +15 stamina in each Blue Socket

+10 Strength + 10 critical strike rating in each Yellow Socket (if you are not hit capped, use some +10 strength +10 hit)

Meta Gem: 21 Critical Strike Rating & 3% Increased Critical Damage (this is the best for warrior dps).


Enchants:

Head: Arcanum of Torment (50ap 20crit)

Shoulders: Greater Inscription of the Axe (40ap 15crit)

Back: Major Agility (22agility)

Chest: Powerful Stats (10 all stats)

Wrist: Greater Assault (50ap)

Hands: Crusher (44ap)

Legs: Icescale leg armor (75ap 22crit)

Feet: Icewalker (12crit 12 hit) or Greater Assault (32ap)

Main Hand: Berserking (+400ap)

Off-Hand: Berserking (+400ap)

(procs don’t stack, but you can raise the proc percentage)



Professions:


Mining: +50 stamina

Tailoring: Swordguard Embroidery is good, but on M4A doesn’t proc 

Jewelcrafting: one of the best prof imho, nice trinkets and unique gems (+34strength ecc…)

Inscription: nice shoulder enchant 120ap 15crit

Enchanting: good profession, enchanting your rings gives you 80ap more (+40 on each)

Leatherworking: nice cloaks and wrist enchant (130ap)

Skinning: +20crit

Engineering: Accelerators (340haste rating for 12sec/1min) and some nice trinkets and stuff for PvP

Blacksmithing: I think BS it’s the best prof for a warrior, but on m4a adding sockets doesn’t work

Addons:


I think addons are a personal choice of each player, but I can show which one I’m using at the moment:

Stancesets: switch stance, and this addon will switch your weapons (essential for PvP)

SlamTimer: when Bloodsurge procs a big SLAM! will come out on your screen.

ClassTimer: very useful and programmable addon that can show your buffs&debuffs with timers

Omen (ofc)



I hope those tips could be useful to someone, and i hope that we could start some conversation about THe TRUE MELEE DPS CHARACTER


First Edit: Glyphs

MAJOR:


The most important one is: Glyph of Whirlwind

Then you can use Glyph of Heroic Strike for rage generation, and Glyph of Bloodthirst for more survivability.

Any other useful glyphs are Glyph of Cleaving ( if you use the cleave spec ) or Glyph of Execution ( more damage on executes ).


MINOR:


Glyph of Bloodrage (no hp needed for bloodrage)

Glyph of Command (4 mins commanding shout)

Glyph of Battle (4 mins battle shout)
